Getting older yet again...
(Sunday, October 11, 2009/11:41 PM)

Wooo... My birthday is coming up again!!! (^_^) But that means I'm growing older... (>.<) Anyway, I've not cared about birthdays for a long time. For the past few years, I have just been having dinner with my family, and the obligatory celebration by the CG. No offence to birthday organizers, but it's my opinion that it feels obligatory. =P Only closer friends would make it much more personal and heartwarming, I guess... =)

I've got a few friends who asked for my gift preference if they were planning to buy a present for me. I'm not particularly glad about the idea of receiving gifts, but I'm surprised there are people who actually take effort to remember my birthday (probably thanks for Facebook). =P

I feel kinda paiseh to just tell them what I want... That's just not my style... But if they insist, I figured that it's best to tell, otherwise they'll feel as if their efforts are wasted if I don't like the gift, and I'll feel disappointed that they don't understand me well enough to know my desires.

By the way, my list of items below are not exactly birthday requests per say, but it's more of a checklist for me, before I head to Japan next year. So, some stuff might appear unreasonable for a simple birthday gift. Don't fret. =D

1) Fashionable tote bag for guys --> I'm carrying a cheapo Taiwanese spree import currently haha! I like those with a decent shiny hue, but not too blinding to the eye. That's LOUDDD (yet another blatant reference to Ris Low =P)

Something like this, I guess...?

Bordering on the edge of LOUDness, but still fine =P

2) A stylish jacket which redefines my fashion sense

Yeahhh... It's a little LOUDDD, but I think it's appropriately LOUDDD. Janet might have different opinions, but at least that's what I thought when I pictured myself wearing this. =P I've placed an order for this jacket through a spree, but nobody else is interested in the spree, and I have to wait indefinitely. =(

3) Cool accessories, esp. necklace and belt --> The right accessories spiff up a person's image by alot. Hoping that works for me as well. =P

4) Designer spectacles --> My Japanese acquaintances marvelled at my Levis spectacles. Why is that? Cos' over in Japan, Levis strictly sells jeans (BIGINI and JUSH JEANS! Oh gosh... I gotta stop this... =.=). I'm not exactly a brand-conscious guy but I'm convinced that the right use of brand does help at times.

5) Cool metallic-based watch --> My watch is almost 6 years old... I don't even bother about the scratches and tiny cracks. =P But I'm definitely going to change it before SEP. I saw a pretty cool watch sold at City Chain. It has a medieval theme to it and is copper bronze in color to reflect that nature. Slick! If only I could find some pictures of it... =S

6) User-friendly, function-rich smartphone --> I don't keep up to date with the latest happenings in the mobile world, so please enlighten me when December hits. That's when I'll probably trade in my shitty Xperia for a new phone.

And of cos'... I don't mind a teddy bear *LOL*!

AHAHAHA ROFL! =D

Oh well, I'm not expecting anything besides the usual angbao from my parents and the obligatory CG present. Please don't feel pressured to buy anything in particular. =) It would be great if I can spend this year's birthday with close friends over a simple dinner. Or maybe a hot date? Ops =X
