Darn construction renovations...

Darnit... The construction work over at my block is irritating me to the max... I get woken up everyday before 9 AM without fail... And how the heck am I supposed to study in such an environment!? Hmph >:( To make matters worse, my mother told me that she received a HDB notice that my ah neh neighbours upstairs is going to renovate their flat.
WALAO EH! They've irritated the hell outta me for many many years already. Especially their son. He loves blasting bhangra music during the evening, when I'm FRIGGIN' trying to NAP, after a hard day of school work. And he does his exercise regime frequently, sometimes even late at night. I can hear the squeaking of his sneakers as he runs around in his house RIGHT ABOVE me. Can't Singaporeans be a little more considerate? >:( And when I think that was the end of my troubles... They wanna renovate their flat??? Wassupwitdat!?
I feel as if I'm living in some kind of a slum now. Construction dust is polluting the air, banglas outnumber the locals in my area, pests are breeding as a consequence of the construction work dirtying the area. For me, suffering sneezing bouts were rare in the past. But now, I can 'combo chain' more than 10 times in a row, probably due to dust allergy. Just great, man...
Everywhere I go, there's construction work. New shopping malls are being built in JE and Clementi. Buona Vista and City Hall are clogged up by the Circle Line construction. Orchard is undergoing a massive revamp. I can't think of any place in Singapore which isn't affected. I wanna say something sensitive relating to politics, but naw... Rather not risk it, lest I get charged, like those stupid racist bloggers some years back. =P
They were doing massive drilling right outside my flat, in order to retile the common corridor. Luckily, I was meeting Ivan and Kristal for lunch, so I could escape that horrendous living hell I was suffering from. The only available lift was not WORKING, and I had to tiptoe on the dirty mess of drilled concrete, going past sweaty construction workers, and trying to hold my breath as I walked through the cloud of dust, and walk down 9 storeys past sacks of cement blocking the stairways. Omg, totally traumatic, man.
Well, on a lighter note, I was glad to meet up Ivan and Kristal for lunch, although I felt a little lazy and was slightly worried that a day of enjoyment would set me back in my study revision by alot. But oh well, I have exactly 2 weeks before my 1st exam, so I should have sufficient time... I hope at least *lol*! Michelle couldn't make it on the last minute, for unknown reasons. So, it's just the 3 of us this time round...
We went to a Hong Kong cafe at Vivo, called KimGary. Funny name, but apparently, it's quite popular. I'm quite nonchalant regarding good food in Singapore. My philosophy is that as long as my stomach is filled, and the food's acceptable, it's fine by me. So, I learn new things regarding food everytime I'm out with Ivan *rofl*. It should come in handy when the time comes for me to seriously consider dating a girl. If I don't know any good restaurants with nice food and ambience, I'd probably fail terribly HAHA! =)
We shopped for a little while, and Ivan commented how Singaporeans follow a safe and mundane fashion trend, instead of being daring trend-setters like the Japanese. My sentiments alike. And he has a distaste for guys who follow the NUM fashion style and think they're cool when they're acutally not. Speaking of the devil, we saw a botak scrawny fair-skinned guy, who wore a singlet and short bermudas, with slippers and a bag slung over his shoulder. Omg, super duper gay. =S
I acknowledge the fact that I'm fair, so I shouldn't pursue the 'Singaporean' fashion style. Right now, I'm trying to follow the Japanese fashion style. Most of the Japanese guys are also fair-skinned. Trying to go along the path of new age metrosexual Japanese style, but not to the extreme of being too gay. =P My newly imported bag from Japan is my first step towards that goal. Gotta shop at either the Central or Bugis, which I heard has Japanese fashion. I'm sooo not gonna be the boring mundane Singaporean guy.
Ivan wanted to drink some beer after awhile, so he went to a casual pub within Vivo, and ordered 1 litre to be shared between Kristal and him. All thanks to my stomach ailment, I could only drink tea. But it's all good, since I hate alcohol anyway *lol*. We started cam-whoring before we left, and Ivan said he looked good using my phone's camera, and asked me take some more pictures LOL!
